Ministry’s Environmental Bill of Rights posting
The Policy & Legislative and Technical Committees have participated in the review and preparation of responses to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and other ministries on the EBR posting on changes to the Brownfields Legislation. The chapter and other stakeholder groups submitted a letter to the Premier supporting the general intent of the direction of the EBR posting and also submitted additional comments to Marcia Wallace, the Brownfields Coordinator for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, providing more focused direction on specific aspects of the posting. View the letter to the Premier here; view the letter to Marcia Wallace here.

Chapter Technical Committee projects
The NBA Ontario Technical Committee is currently working on several issues. They include:

  • A position paper on the MOE risk assessment process and the presence of free product
  • Submission to MOE on the definition of a “Qualified Professional”
  • Review of the Region of Peel protocols for non-potable groundwater criteria
