‘Navigating the Rough Economic Waters’ was Theme of Members-Only Event
Members of the NBA Michigan Chapter gained insight on “navigating the rough economic waters” in the state at an August Members-Only Meeting in Bay City. Highlights included an overview of legislation to provide a tax incentive for green construction, which was spearheaded by the chapter and recently introduced in the Michigan legislature; a look at alternative energy programs and incentives in the state, and the implications for brownfield redevelopment; and status reports on Michigan economic development programs, and stimulus money spending on brownfield projects in the state. A boat tour of local redevelopment projects capped off the day.
