Communications Subcommittee
This subcommittee is responsible for providing staff at NBA headquarters with state news and information on brownfield market trends, identifying people that can provide articles or perspectives on controversial topics, and identifying deals and business opportunities. The subcommittee also coordinates a quarterly newsletter for Chapter members.

Events Committee
This subcommittee works to plan Chapter conferences and identify workshop opportunities. NBA staff meeting and planning support is available to the subcommittee. The subcommittee is responsible for working with the Executive Committee to create a one-year event schedule, identify event themes, create program agendas, identify speakers and sponsors, and work with a city to host the event and organize a brownfield tour.

Membership Subcommittee
As a non-profit organization the NBA relies heavily on sponsor contributions and member dues to fund operations. NBA headquarters provides technical and administrative staff and handles accounting for each Chapter. The focus of this committee is to grow the Chapter by increasing membership through attracting a balance of professional members from the four major market sectors (property owners, developers, service professionals and representatives from state and local government). In addition the subcommittee also looks to secure a diverse group of public and private sector Chapter sponsors that could provide financial contributions to help fund Chapter operations.

Policy & Legislative Subcommittee
The subcommittee is responsible for monitoring policy and legislature and providing analysis of state brownfield legislation. Following NBA procedures, the committee will work with the Chapter Executive Committee to draft comments on proposed regulations and legislation, provide input to state agencies, and create a brownfield agenda for the Chapter.

Technical Subcommittee
This subcommittee is responsible for identifying technical issues and creating best practices and procedures for advancing the brownfield market. The subcommittee coordinates with the Executive Committee and NBA staff on activities such as preparing position papers, best practices, and working with academic institution and Brownfield News to collect and publish data on the brownfield industry. The committee may also collaborate with NBA HQ to develop workshop and training programs.

Transaction Subcommittee
This subcommittee is responsible for identifying brownfield listings and sites for sale, reporting brownfield success stories, and working with both municipalities and private sector concerns to post RFPs for brownfield projects and related work. The subcommittee reports to the Executive Committee and NBA HQ to publicize information via website, magazine, newsletters, etc. The subcommittee also gives regular updates on deal flow at Executive Committee meetings and to members at Chapter events.
