Principal
Eric Pringle is Vice President of Operations and Principal for Hemmera, a progressive eighty-five person consulting firm providing environmental services in geosciences, engineering, life sciences, planning, and renewable energy development. Hemmera has offices in Vancouver and Victoria and works on projects across Western Canada. Eric is the corporate champion for Hemmera’s Environment Committee which leads the sustainability initiatives within the firm including commuter challenges, responsible procurement, recycling programs, energy and paper reduction systems.
Eric is an industry specialist in contaminated site remediation and brownfield redevelopment. Since 1988, he has had the opportunity to lead signature and award-winning projects and deliver results for his clients on large multifaceted undertakings and complex brownfields with government and private sector clients.
Eric is active within the industry through participation APEGBC, CEBC, and holds an executive position on the National Brownfield Associations. He also contributes to his community through numerous board memberships, fundraising initiatives and pro bono work. Eric helped raise $2.3 million for Science World as one of their Champions of the Future, a campaign to support essential infrastructure upgrades and the creation of a new Outdoor Science Experience focused on environmental sustainability. He is leading Hemmera’s sponsorship of the Robert Bateman ‘Get to Know’ Program, an outreach initiative bringing environmental appreciation directly into B.C. schools. Eric has provided strong leadership on Hemmera’s United Way Campaign which raised over $20,000 last year alone and is focused raising community awareness with our staff and stakeholders. He has led project efforts for the YMCA related to a daycare in East Vancouver and also for Science World, much of this work and his time being completed on a pro bono basis.
On weekends throughout the winter, Eric can be found enjoying the snow out on the slopes with his wife, Linda, and two sons Schuyler and Liam. At one time, Eric was a Level III ski instructor, Level I coach, and even head of a Ski School in Ontario. In the summer, he is often on the golf course shaping his game or visiting with family in Ontario. He is a proud engineer and believer in team work. He is an enthusiastic TEC participant. He has a lifelong affinity for the environment and outdoors activities.
